'Amiri Osman

'Amiri was born in the Eastern part of DR.Congo(south(Kivu) 50 ago. His parents passed away when he was three years of age. He was adopted by a new family and moved with his newly adopted parents to Uganda,Kenya  and Tanzania.

In 1986 he acquired a diploma in Drawing and Perspective. He then  worked with different companies and  volunteered and mobilized refugees to be self sufficient in South Africa countries. In 2004 he opened up Curious Shop and a workshop. He arrived in USA on the 8th of September, 2016, and resides in Boise, Idaho.

Besides batik he does oil paintings and acrylics and sculpturing. His ambition is to work hard to get a degree in Fabric Arts.

Formed in November of 2015 and managed by local artists. Swell is located on the lower level of the Old MercantileBuilding in Boise's BoDo district. Located at 404 S. 8th Street lower level L105 Boise 83702By combining their individual artistic practices and ideas into a common space, the more thanfifty artists of Swell Artist Collective have a mission to create a vibrant studio and galleryenvironment that is open to the public and intent on helping bolster the community's rapidly-growing arts culture. Swell hosts First Thursday, as well as many independently organizedartistic events, and maintains regular hours of operation during which people can visit.
